We all do this, right?
A lot of the time we don’t even realise. But let me just put it out there and remind you, NO ONE’S PERFECT.
As much as people like to big up everything up on social media, what is posted is 99% inaccurate of their actual way of life. People sell there brands on social media or business, NOT there day to day life. Remember that.
Comparing our lives to someone else’s robs us of so much of our precious time! Get out there, make memories and LIVE, stop sitting at home comparing! How many hours have you spent going “Ugh, I wish I had
What are you gaining from comparing yourself? Nothing! No one can ever be you, that’s the beauty of it. So embrace it! Don’t ever try and clone yourself to look like your favourite Insta model. You are your own unique person and it is not fair to put yourself down over assumptions and comparisons.
If your in a viscous cycle of comparing yourself to others, it’s time to take a break from worrying about others and start focusing on you. Maybe come off instagram for a couple months? There’s no harm in that. It’s super detrimental to your health when you always feel like you’re in a race with someone. Stop focusing on being as good as someone else and start focusing on living your BEST life by being your BEST self.
How can we start removing this harmful habit out of our life? It’s not easy, but it CAN be done! It just requires work and active participation from you physically and mentally…
Take note to the below points team!
Always remember that everything you see isn’t what it always appears to be.
Social media doesn’t help with this. Although more people have gravitated towards being “honest” online, it’s not always the case with everyone. And sometimes it might not even be people you see from a screen! It could be your coworker who’s constantly bragging about how perfect their life is or the brand new sports car they just bought. Most of the time people act like this out of insecurities they deal with on the inside. Just always remind yourself that you may see what happens on the outside, but you never really know what’s going on inside.
Be aware of your own successes and uniqueness
No matter what your job is or what you do in life, you have a perspective that is unique to you that is backed by experiences and skills that only YOU have. You have the ability to love, serve, and contribute YOUR part to the world. Appreciate your own individuality gurrrl.
Look for inspiration in comparison
Looking for inspiration and learning from others is WAY DIFFERENT than comparing our lives to others. It’s important to know the difference. If you find that someone you admire on social media leads a healthy lifestyle, don’t stare at photos and ask yourself why you can’t be like them…TALK TO THEM PEOPLE! Message them and ask for help/advice!
If you’re going to compare, compare with YOURSELF
We all strive to be the best versions of ourselves, no? So let’s stop comparing
There’s SO much power that comes with being yourself – EMBRACE IT & OWN IT!
